!SURPRISING SALVATIONS! ABRAHAM, WHO BELIEVED GOD
|
HOW ABRAHAM’S SALVATION WAS SURPRISING: 1. ITS SUBJECT—Abram was minding his own business in Ur when God picked him in order to bless billions.
2. ITS DEMANDS—God required Abram to relocate to Canaan and later, incredibly, to prove his obedience by sacrificing his beloved son.
3. ITS NATURE—Abraham believed God, trusted God.
4. ITS RESULT—“Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
H E B R E W S 1 1
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

13 "Abram Called To Be a Blessing" By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren—was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

23 VERONICA MCDONALD "Mother of Nations" By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.

the pain in Abraham’s eyes..agony in obedience...Thank you, Alba, for singling out that one. That was how God knew Abraham, who had waited so long for this treasured son, really trusted Him.
Some fine day I will talk with angels about their interactions with humans. That angel delivering the good news to Abraham had a blessed assignment then. I want to hang out with my guardian angel....

You've come to the right place, Homer. Many thanks!
I would return the favor, but I doubt there are any Civil War books of which you are unaware.
